The public relations specialist (PRS) acts as liaisons between VFW Post 8235 and area veterans, the military, businesses and the general public. The PRS promotes awareness of the Post and the work that volunteer members do for veterans and the community.
One common duty of the public relations specialist is the writing of press releases about the VFW. Another is contacting reporters, producers and editors in print and broadcast media who might create stories with these press releases. PRS also often maintain a press release database. In addition, they may be responsible for organizing promotional or community-centered programs and events held at the Post. These might include speaking engagements for officials or public presentations.3 More opportunities with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8235

The neighborhoods surrounding our VFW Post have many veterans and their families most are lower middle class families, the working poor, and older veterans living on modest fixed incomes. Therefore most of our funds go to support veterans and the surrounding community.
