Garden Class Assistant

We need a personable assistant to help our Garden Manager in hosting adult garden and sustainable living classes. These classes form a significant part of Common Ground Garden's income and assist us with running our other programs (youth education, volunteering, events, demo garden maintenance).

It would be helpful if you have:

• some open Saturdays to help host classes,
• a desire to attend (for free!) these classes,
• a willingness to help setup and engage with participants at our welcome table

We will show you what to do before the first class that you help out with. In return for your help, we would like to offer you free tickets to all classes that you help our Garden Manager with. And we want to be flexible to your needs.

For each class you intend to help us to host, we would ask that you:

• Communicate your intent to help us out with a given class at least 48 hrs before the class date
• Receive confirmation from us that we have you booked to help out (sometimes we may already have another volunteer booked)
• arrive 30min beforehand and help us to set up for the class
• Help attendees to sign in for the class
• Stick around at the welcome table for 15 minutes after the published class start time to sign in any stragglers while CGG staff gets the class started.
• Optionally, stick around to enjoy the class, or leave at your leisure.
