Make a difference in someone’s life by providing your gift of time to Hospice or Pediatric palliative patients and families. Types of volunteers needed include companions, Reiki, aromatherapists, hairdressers, music and pet therapists. Visit patients/families in their homes or in skilled nursing facilities. We will customize your visits to meet your needs - you choose towns you’d like to visit and day/hours you’d like to visit. Office support volunteers also needed! Description

Volunteers provide support to hospice and/or pediatric palliative patients, caregivers and staff in the following ways:

  • Companionship and respite in homes, skilled nursing, assisted living, hospitals
  • Veteran-to-Veteran support - proud members of the We Honor Veterans program
  • Complementary Therapies - Reiki, Massage, Pet Therapy, Music Therapy
  • Clerical / office support
  • Vigil Choir
  • Vigils / DOULA
We offer monthly volunteer meetings, volunteer newsletter, ongoing trainings and in-services, and special recognition throughout the year. Volunteers also have lots of opportunities to participate in Baystate-sponsored events throughout the year!
Flexible schedules to fit with your schedule; volunteer in areas you wish to volunteer in; hospice trainings held twice annually; pediatric palliative trainings held throughout year, based on requests/need
