Come and join CCHR and help make a difference in the lives of horses who need you!
CCHR is always looking for volunteers who would like to help care for the horses and the horses' sanctuary. CCHR also has many other types of volunteer opportunities including participation in off-site events, administrative support, marketing, fundraising and grant writing. In addition, what strengths or talents do you have that you feel would lend themselves well to the Rescue? We would love to know!
Orientations are held the 1st Saturday in February, April, June, August, September, November at 9:30 am(unless specified otherwise). Find out about CCHR and the work it does as it provides sanctuary, care, and love for the horses who have found a safe haven there. Meet all of the horses and hear about what makes each one of them so special. Founded in 2000, California Coastal Horse Rescue (CCHR) cares for those horses that no one else will care for...
A 501(c)3 non-profit organization; the Mission of CCHR is to rescue abandoned, abused, neglected and slaughter-bound horses and to provide them with a second chance for healthy and productive lives. CCHR also rescues horses whose owners can no longer afford to care for them.
CCHR provides shelter, food, veterinary care, farrier services, rehabilitation and adoption services for the horses in its care. It also offers long-term sanctuary to disabled and elderly horses.
With a combination of specialized care and loving support, all horses rescued by CCHR are given the opportunity to heal, thrive and to lead happy and peaceful lives.
Since its inception, CCHR has given sanctuary to over 150 horses and ponies at its facility and has also placed over 600 equines in new homes through its adoption services.
CCHR relies on the generous support of donors, volunteers, sponsors and grants.
CCHR will always be an advocate for horses in need and will always strive to offer Rescue,Rehabilitation, and Refuge to these beautiful and treasured animals.
