Help victims of sexual violence in our community - become a MOCSA Advocate!

Hospital advocates provide crisis intervention, emotional support, information, and resources for survivors of sexual assault during the forensic/medical exam process. Hospital advocates are provided with a comprehensive training that prepares them for their role. This includes learning about community partners, sexual violence dynamics, advocacy skills, and the opportunity to engage in activities that stregthen core advocacy skills.

Advocates respond to hospitals in their service area (we break our 7 county service area into 4 regions). Advocates are able to sign themselves up for shifts based upon their availability. Shifts typically run daytime 8:30-5 or over night 5-8:30am. We also have weekend shifts that run daytime hours and evening/over night hours.
