Provide layout and design for toolkit on how to create community murals with youth. The toolkit will be featured on our website as a way for people who are seeking to accomplish similar work to learn from what we do. What we do: we believe that art is a powerful medium for social change and we work in conflict and post-conflict communities with youth and public arts.

The toolkit already has illustrations and text. In addition a previous graphic designer has created a preliminary layout that can be utilized unless the designer would like to start fresh. Learn more about us at: www.colorsofconnection.org. Contact us with any questions and thank you for reading :)

About Colors of Connection

Location:

PO Box 50371, Brooklyn, NY 11205, US

Mission Statement

To engage youth from conflict-affected countries and their communities through collaborative art-making to promote hope, well-being, and self-determination in the pursuit of social justice.

Description

Colors of Connection (CC) is a US based 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on arts engagement, public mural making, and community building in conflict-affected and fragile contexts. We work with adolescent girls and young women with the goal of trauma healing and violence prevention focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa.

Through the medium of art, we invest in building knowledge, skill sets and resources that strengthen adolescent’s mental and emotional capacities, and allow them to move beyond the mindset of basic survival brought on by living through conflict. At the heart of our work is the belief that art is a powerful catalyst that can help people heal and rebuild their lives and communities.
