218 5th AveBrooklyn, NY 11217

NYC/PETS has graciously allowed For Animals, Inc. to show cats/kittens around the clock at their 5th Avenue store (218 5th Ave between Union/President). To-date, thanks to their generosity, 7 kitties have found forever homes. But, we need volunteers.

We need volunteers to stop in at the store for at least 30 min to clean the cages and feed the kitties: Our biggest need is for the 9am shift which is when the store opens. If you can only help once a month that's ok - every bit helps. Shifts (duration is at least 30 minutes minimum) Mornings - 9am 7 days a week

Midday - any day/time ok

Evening - between 4-7 7 days a week

Below is a list of the tasks:

- scoop out solids. If the litter is saturated with urine it's best to dump it all out, wash the bins and add fresh litter

- shake off blankets/beds

- sweep up litter below and around cages that has been kithe floor around cages

- wash food and water bowls (bathroom located at the back of the store - cashier or the manager (Carlos) can direct you)

- feed 3oz can - 1 per cat

- leave fresh water

- If you have time to stick around feel free to provide a little TLC ;-)

Items you'll need can be found on the shelf below the cages (i.e., small poop bags, litter bag, cans of food and dry food, spoon, mini broom, dustpan, spray or disinfectant wipes). At the back of the store is a long dustpan with broom to sweep up the floor around/below cages. *TIP: bring a spoon just in case the one at the store was disposed - this will help with the food. Bring a plastic bag with you just in case there aren't any available to scoop the litter* If you have questions or are interested in volunteering please contact Celi at
