NYC PETS has graciously allowed For Animals, Inc. to show cats/kittens around the clock at their 5th Avenue store (218 5th Ave between Union/President).
We need volunteers to stop in at the store for at least 30 min to clean the cages and feed the kitties: Our biggest need is for the 9am shift which is when the store opens. If you can only help once a month that's ok - every bit helps. Shifts (duration is at least 30 minutes minimum):
Mornings: Mon - Sat 9am, Sun 1 1am
Midday: any day/time ok
Evening: Mon - Fri between 4-7pm , Sat 4-6pm, Sun 3-5pm
Below is a list of the tasks:
- scoop out solids
- shake off blankets/beds
- sweep up litter below and around cages
- wash food and water bowls
- feed
- leave fresh water
- If you have time to stick around feel free to provide a little TLC ;-)
If you are interested in volunteering please contact Keeley at foranimalsincvolunteers@gmail.com.

Mission Statement
The vision of For Animals is a New York City metropolitan area in which: the everyday decisions and actions of society at large reflect and promote all animals’ right to a safe and healthy life. Trap-Neuter-Return resources are widely accessible and actively utilized by community members in all five boroughs. the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals and the humane treatment of every animal are core values upheld by all citizens of the city. adopting companion animals from no-kill shelters is considered the norm among current and prospective pet owners. public-intake shelters no longer euthanize healthy or treatable animals for want of funds or living space. no companion animal is ever born into, nor abandoned to, homelessness for any reason.
Description
For Animals is dedicated to eliminating companion animal homelessness, engaging our larger community as vital and active participants in this shared social and ethical responsibility, and providing that community with the resources and education necessary to achieve these goals together.
