About

There are many cats at the shelter. Most of them spend all day and night in a crate. We need people to come and sit in the cat room and socialize with the cats. While there, you can pet the cats, brush them, talk with them and hold them on your lap for a while. We have actually found that when we have a regular volunteer spending time with the cats, we see less upper respiratory infections! Spending time with our shelter cats is a great way to volunteer your time. It helps keep our cats happy and healthy while they are in our rescue. Many kitties to simply spend time around people while others may need more socialization before they are ready for adoption. You can come play with them or just sit in a chair and read a book or work on your computer... if they let you:)

Come join our volunteer team and make a difference! No specific age requirements though volunteers under 16 must volunteer with a parent or guardian. Interested persons should submit a volunteer application via our website www.sftsrescue.org. Thank you!
