Pre-nursing and nursing students needed to provide warm and friendly visits with patients. Volunteer will help decrease patient's anxiety and increase comfort during their stay. Position is excellent for nursing students to obtain patient care contact hours. Volunteer will visit with patient, help with various tasks: provide ice water, warm blankets, room details, offer information (dietary, chaplain, locations in hospital) and give free items such as puzzle books, lip balm, combs, etc. Volunteer will use standard hygiene parameters at all times.Thorough training provided. Volunteer will interact with patients, patient's family members, and nursing staff. Need to be able to walk and stand most of the 2 hour shift.
