The Charleston Marathon is a volunteer-driven non-profit community event to benefit Engaging Creative Minds. ECM is a nonprofit organization in its fifth year. We work closely with local artists to integrate curriculum based arts programs into our local Title 1 schools. We also offer a nationally award winning six-week summer STEAM camp (grades K-6). This is a dynamic summer camp that helps to prevent summer learning loss in students. We cannot produce an event of this magnitude without the commitment of hundreds of volunteers - volunteers are what drive a successful event! Engaging Creative Minds' goals are:
- To provide all students equal access to quality learning opportunities based on the common core standards in all interested schools in the three county region;
- To increase student engagement in learning; and
- To increase the capacity of local organizations and individuals (Engaging Learning Experiences [ELE] Partners) to deliver highly impactful learning opportunities for students.
