Casa Hogar in Arequipa
Having fun on the swings!

We are looking for caring and enthusiastic people with a passion for helping others to work at the Casa Hogar Torre Fuerte girls' home in Arequipa, southern Peru.

Casa Hogar Torre Fuerte is a home for girls and young women who have been removed from their families due to abandonment or abuse. It is based just outside of the centre of the city of Arequipa, Peru. There are generally between thirty and forty girls living there at any one time aged from 3 to 18 years of age. The state sends girls, but provides very little financial assistance. As a member of the team at the Torre Fuerte, you will work alongside local staff to support the girls in their care. Responsibilities include domestic tasks as necessary, homework help, playing with the girls, and contributing towards a safe and stable home environment. You are also welcome to get involved with mini-projects and training, dependent on your skills and experience. This is particularly important with the older girls who may have missed time at school due to their family background. We are also currently working with Casa Hogar Torre Fuerte to assist them in their long term goal of supporting the girls with their education and training in order to prepare them for their exit from the home when they turn 18.

This is a great opportunity for those wishing to get experience working in a caring role with young people.

We ask that those applying for this role dedicate a minimum of two weeks. Please note that due to the nature of the project, there is limited availability for male applicants.
