Youth & Teen Clubs

Camp Fire Minnesota’s Youth and Teen Clubs help students find their own unique spark. Clubs meet multiple days a week, in partnership with affordable housing communities and school districts around the metro area, offering programs at no cost to the participating youth. We provide homework and literacy assistance for at least 45 minutes each day. The rest of Club time is dedicated to fun, hands-on projects, including nature and outdoor activities, service learning in the community, technology, goal-setting and so much more. Clubs have varying schedules, but all meet within the hours of 4pm and 6:30pm Monday - Friday.

We believe that the best youth development occurs in small groups where children and youth are actively involved in creating their own learning. We offer two mentorship opportunities to help create this environment:

One-on-One Mentors are matched directly with a Camp Fire kid to provide direct mentorship through homework assistance and goal-setting. This role is available at a limited number of clubs, please contact us to discuss.

Small Group Mentors provide support to Camp Fire club leaders and youth. Group Mentors provide homework assistance and activity support 3-5 youth or teens at a time.

Commitment Consistency

As a volunteer, you are very important to Camp Fire youth! You will develop relationships with Club kids and they will look forward to the time you share, depending on your guidance. In order to support our kids, we ask you to be a positive, dependable role model and to commit to a full academic-year term with Camp Fire. Together, we will create a schedule that works for you, and your Camp Fire Club.

Location

Camp Fire has 18 Club locations across the Metro Area. We work with our Mentors to find the best site fit for you and our youth.

Mentor Training

Camp Fire Minnesota provides training to support our Mentors throughout their volunteer experience.
