We need Board Members to meet every other month, plus for special occasions, such as fundraisers. There are items to talk through during meetings, and there will be some small assignments on occasion.
Our goal is to support LA Wilderness Training. LAWT trains adults who work with youth to lead their youth outdoors. We also have a Gear Library full of tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, backpacks, clothing, hiking boots, etc. Alumni can borrow from the Gear Library for free to outfit their trips.
We meet every other month on the first Thursday evening.

Description
Los Angeles Wilderness Training (LAWT) helps get kids outdoors by providing supports to adults who regularly work with youth. LAWT is a project of Earth Island Institute.
LAWT trains teachers, after school program staff, adult youth leader, and other adult youth workers how to lead their kids on camping and backpacking trips.
We also support these trips with free alumni access to equipment in our gear library. In LAWT’s gear library, we will have tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, clothes, boots, backpacks, stoves, etc.
There are no other organizations in LA County offering this service.
