The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. If you are a friendly, energetic people person who enjoys making a difference, please consider volunteering in the Transportation/Redcoats Volunteer Service at Elkhart General Hospital. This rewarding volunteer opportunity is responsible for greeting everyone who enters our facility, as well as helping them to their destination within the hospital, helping with patient discharges, and so much more! Volunteer shifts are 4 hours long ranging from 7 am - 8:00 pm, Monday - Friday and 8 am - 4 pm on Saturday. Successful candidates will have the ability to push wheelchairs and walk long distances, as well as be comfortable interacting with the public. New Volunteer Orientation is required to begin the process of volunteering at Elkhart General Hospital. To attend orientation please RSVP in advance.
