The Tech Museum of Innovation Needs Volunteers Like You! (San Jose downtown) Do you have a desire to learn and teach others about science, technology, engineering, art or math? If so, then The Tech might be the perfect place for you to volunteer! The Tech Museum of Innovation is not your typical museum, which means our volunteers are so much more than standard museum docents. The Tech serves a diverse population, including international visitors, local communities, and varying school groups. We often have 1,000+ students visiting the museum for field trips on a given day. This means our volunteers have the unique opportunity to staff exhibits and interact with our guests. A typical day could include helping guests experience and understand the power of major earthquakes, leading kids in hands-on projects like building their own robot, or letting visitors feel what it is like to maneuver in space using the "Jet Pack" simulation.

You don't have to be an experienced instructor or engineer to succeed as a volunteer here. You just need enthusiasm for innovation, and a willingness to engage our guests with the exhibits. We provide an orientation, hands-on training and mentor-ship to ensure your success. If you are 18 or older, enjoy connecting and working with people; we know you'll enjoy joining our close-knit community of Silicon Valley supporters.

Trying to volunteer around a busy schedule? We have excellent opportunities for you. We are always looking for volunteers to help with our evening events. You select your event shifts based on your availability, and all we ask is two evening events per month.

We also have regular (weekly or biweekly) shifts, from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 12:30 - 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete an online application, located on our website:
