The mission of the Volunteer Service Program at UMC is to advance and promote the health of individuals in the Las Vegas community through services to our patients and customers. To work side by side with hospital personnel, patients, visitors and each other to enhance commitment/service and improve customer service and satisfaction.

Volunteers promote diversity and foster strategic partnerships through their personal credibility as non- compensated support. They set the example of willingly giving time and expertise without any thought of monetary benefit to themselves and demonstrating a strong personal commitment. It is very rewarding to see the tremendous support to the patients and staff of UMC. From teenagers to grandparents, from homemakers to professionals, UMC's volunteers encompass all walks of life and all income levels. Each volunteer offers something unique and fills a variety of challenging needs allowing health care workers to focus on providing much needed care to our patients.

The Volunteer Service Program offers many different types of programs. Some examples are the following: Concierge Desk assisting visitors and patients as needed, Pediatric volunteer, patient transport, patient unit support, art/music/storytelling, baby cuddler, clerical duties, K-9 therapy for qualified adults with a dog, etc...

If you have additional questions or need more information about volunteering opportunities, you may contact the Volunteer Services office at 702 383-2388.
