About

Bikes For Humanity PDX volunteers learn bicycle tune-up and overhaul procedures from a professional curriculum and use their skills to prepare donated bikes for adoption.

Volunteer Mechanics refurbish and repair bikes. Repair and refurbishing work is the primary focus. On Thursday-Sunday, some time will be spent working with clients and/or doing on-the-spot repairs. We love the positive community that grows when great, talented folks come together at our shop and we recognize the unique value of such giving mechanics from all types of backgrounds.

This is a rewarding volunteer position! There is much to gain: mechanical knowledge and skills, bike shop experience, and the opportunity to save bikes from the waste stream and put them back on the road with people who benefit from having access to affordable, reliable transportation.

All volunteers can use 1 hour of free bench usage time to work on their own bikes after logging 2 hours volunteering for B4HPDX programs.
