Caring for Cats

Help care for the 20-30 cats waiting to be adopted at Caring for Cats No-kill shelter. Volunteers help provide a clean environment for the cats as well as socializing them for adoption. Teams of 7-9 volunteers help to:

  • Scoop litterboxes
  • Clean cat condos and furniture
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Provide food and water
  • Groom and socialize cats
Please note that some shifts are scheduled when the shelter is closed to the public and some shifts may be full. We're open during the following hours if you'd like to stop by to fill out an application: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 5-7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday 1-3 pm. We are closed Wednesday and Thursday.

The volunteer shifts we may have available include:
  • Monday 5-7:30 pm
  • Tuesday 5-7:30 pm
  • Wednesday 10-12 pm
  • Thursday 4-6 pm
  • Friday 5:30 pm
  • Saturday 9-11 am

Mission Statement

Caring for Cats is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to maintaining and improving the lives of cats and kittens, and promoting positive human/feline experiences. Our mission is to:

1. Provide shelter and food to stray, abused, and surrendered cats and kittens

2. Provide the finest medical care, both holistic and traditional, for cats and kittens

3. Operate an adoption program making the cats and kittens entering the organization's shelter and foster network available to persons who demonstrate a desire and ability to provide them a loving and permanent home

4. Educate the public about the nature and care of cats and kittens, and the need to control the local cat population through spaying and neutering

Description

We are an all-volunteer, no-kill cat shelter in North St. Paul, MN. We also have a foster network for cats and kittens, with volunteer foster families in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
