Description: Teach the WomenVenture course for start-up entrepreneurs, "Getting Ready", in a 3-week series or a 1-day workshop format. This course helps start-up business owners assess their business idea, personal financial situation, and fit to be an entrepreneur. In class activities are facilitated by a trainer who encourages self-reflection and lends depth to the course through personal or real-life examples of business owners and their small businesses. We are particularly looking for experienced educators and small business owners. Skills & Qualifications: Commitment to WomenVenture’s Mission Demonstrated quick thinking/problem solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrated good judgment and situational perception skills Ability to work with individuals of varied backgrounds Professional dress and attitude Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and basic computer functions Facilitating/coaching Experience Required Financial Literacy Required Has owned a small business Strongly preferred Commitment: For classes in a 3-week format, we ask you to commit to all three evenings. These classes take place from 6 - 7:30 pm one night per week for a three week period. Classes in a 1-day format take place on Fridays from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. You opt in to which class dates you would like to teach. Apply: Complete a volunteer Interest Application, observe a class, and give a brief mock presentation to WomenVenture staff. Our Vision: By 2020, 60% of clients who complete WomenVenture’s Pathways to Entrepreneurship program will be in business 5 years after launch and will pay themselves a living wage (120% of Area Median Income).
