We're looking for a extraordinary individual who has a passion to aid our public charity, The Metro Mentorship Initiative (EIN: 27-4083907), as a part-time volunteer or intern. This associate will be the main point of contact for our participant's families and help with basic multi-faceted administrative components including various clerical duties, invoicing, billing, data entry and management of general office operations. Primarily he/she will assist the agency's President (CEO) in scheduling meetings and appointments, taking minutes in meetings, screening phone calls and managing the organization's email inbox. Description

With initial financial commitments from his own personal income, Lorne Massie founded the Metro Mentorship Initiative in 2010 which is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Lorne formed this organization out of a common belief that many people in their community lacked meaningful mentoring relationships that could help with guidance and direction. Board members of the Metro Mentorship Initiative developed Austin Comets Athletics, the subsidiary flagship program, in the winter of the 2011 year. The program is a mentoring sports club that provides a high quality athletic program for urban youth that allows them to compete and pursue excellence in the development of their skills, health and moral character. Since its implementation in 2013, Austin Comets Athletics has served many youth (50+) for over 5 years in the Austin neighborhood.

Our agency is comprised of executive, managerial and young entry level professionals who truly have a passion to come together as an effective team and work with youth and children between the ages of 5-21. The board chairmen and it’s members provide strategic leadership in operations and fundraising. Volunteers who commit to our organization are the most vital part of our success.
