SAFe Rescue is searching for members of the public who have a minimum of 6 months cat care experience in a professional or volunteer capacity!

Role Purpose: To keep cat kennels clean and comfortable for the resident cats.

Requirements: 17 years or older, able to work independently. Be able to commit to one 2-hour shift/week for four consecutive months or two 2-hour shifts/week for two consecutive months. Be able to squat, bend, twist, lift and stand for entire shift. Be comfortable with direct contact with cats and kittens, dirty litter boxes & food bowls, and cleaning agents such as bleach, hydrogen peroxide. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Willingness and ability to learn the following tasks:

Cat Care: provide the cats with their basic and emotional needs.

• Spot clean cat enclosures daily for each cat
• Chart and monitor individual cats, observe general cat behavior and make note of changes.
• Prepare clean litter pans, food, and water bowls following correct procedures and amounts.
• Clean or replace soiled litter boxes and food bowls
• Keep supply prep cabinets stocked and sanitary
• Sweep, mop, and prepare adoption center

Training: Orientation, Training shifts. Job-shadow when needed.
