The Brown County Humane Society is seeking morning help to care for our shelter cats and kittens.
Volunteers come to the shelter from 9-12 to help staff clean the cat condos, provide fresh food/water/bedding/litter, and spend time cuddling and playing with the cats before the shelter opens to the public.
This is a great way to get to know our wonderful shelter staff, learn about all of the cats, and see how things operate behind-the-scenes. Great for cat lovers!
Help us keep our cats happy and healthy while we find them their forever homes!
Must be at least 15 to volunteer. Requires a commitment of the same day every week or every-other week.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Brown County Humane Society is to be a community resource dedicated to promoting the welfare of all animals in our county. We provide temporary shelter to pets in need and promote adoption of homeless pets into loving, permanent homes. We advocate respect for animals through public education concerning responsible pet ownership. We support and promote spaying and neutering to ultimately eliminate pet overpopulation in our community.
Description
The Brown County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing for the health and well-being of the animals of Brown County. We offer a number of services to promote animal health and education about their care.
BCHS operates an open-admission shelter for cats and dogs from Brown County. We are very proud to have an outstanding annual save rate of 95% or more since 2010. No animals in our care are euthanized unless they are deemed too dangerous to be in the community or are too ill and suffering from an illness that can't be treated. All adoptable animals stay with us until a home can be found.
BCHS also provides community programs such as low-cost spay/neuter services, annual rabies clinics, temporary pet food assistance for families in need, shelters for outdoor pets, trap-neuter-return for feral cat colonies, and educational programs.
