Male Mentors Needed For Children Between The Ages of 5-12!

The BeFriend-A-Child Mentoring Program matches adult volunteers with children between the ages of 5-12 who are in need of a mentor. All have experienced trauma in some form or another, such as child abuse or neglect, familial substance abuse, domestic violence, or parental absence. Our hope is that through developing a relationship with a mentor, these children will increase their confidence, have a healthy and positive outlet, and develop resiliency against life's adverse experiences. Mentors and mentees are matched for two years. Mentors must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass background checks. Mentors must be able to make a two year commitment, spending at least 8 hours every month with their mentee and participating in monthly program outings at least once per quarter. Mandatory training is provided.
