If you would like to make a difference in the life of a woman who is making the transition from incarceration to an independent lifestyle, then this volunteer opportunity is for you. Volunteers must have reliable transportation and should be willing to work with women who are incarcerated from six months prior to their release until six months after their release in order to help create a life altering experience.

We are looking for emotionally stable and mature adult women who are committed to devoting focused and consistent time to help incarcerated women transition effectively back into their communities. Eligible volunteers will be expected to complete training with the NC Department of Public Safety and at least four hours of training with InStepp Inc. Volunteers will work with InStepp staff as a part of a team to help incarcerated women reenter society with as strong a foundation as possible.
