Position Summary: Volunteering in the clothing room is a great experience for somebody who desires direct interaction with center guests. The clothing room provides individuals in need with not only clean, essential clothing, but it also provides a sense of value and dignity. It also helps us build the relationships necessary to assist a guest in their journey to end the cycle of homelessness, addiction and poverty.

The clothing room representative will be responsible for organizing the clothing area, folding and hanging new clothing, doing inventory analysis to determine what sizes and types of clothes are needed, pulling clothing for clients, and assisting clients as they shop. This position provides guests with dignity by allowing them to choose the clothes that they want within pre-established guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Organizes the clothing closet
Fold, size and hang new clothing donations
Takes inventory to determine clothing needed
Fold and return items neatly to their proper place
Assists clients with shopping
Prepare clothing not appropriate for our programs for donation to partner organizations

Requirements:
A genuine passion for clothing and organization
Must be personable, friendly, and have a caring disposition
Ability to interact with diverse populations
Respect and maintain confidentiality of LEC guests, volunteers, staff, and donors
Basic knowledge of clothing sizes and types necessary
Basic computer skills for tracking items received by guests
Keep sorting room and main distribution area neat and tidy

Time Commitment:
Tuesday- Thursday 9am - 11am
