The Pet Therapy Companion Team Handler is responsible for providing non-medical support services as needed to nursing home and home patients and identified family members on a volunteer basis. The sole intention of this role is for the handler to offer pet companionship with his/her certified pet therapy animal. This is in an attempt to improve a patient’s sense of well being and immediate quality of life.
