A hard day's work to help those in need live in warmth, safety, and independence!

Together we repair homes, revitalize communities, & transform lives.

Rebuilding Together Aurora is celebrating National Rebuilding Day and bringing together volunteers to provide critical home repair for Aurora homeowners in need.

We serve senior citizens, persons with disabilities, families with small children, and Veterans. All of whom meet the HUD low income standards.

Our April Rebuilding Event is a great time to come together to rebuild and restore our beautiful city. We select 15 projects in need of repair in a targeted neighborhood and produce the leadership to have volunteers come and paint or perform other repairs that will help a homeowner live in safety. This year we will be serving homeowners on the west side of Aurora.

Don't have any construction skills? Or have you been in the trades for years. Please sign up! All skill levels are needed. The only qualification required is your desire to help someone in need.

Mission Statement

Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.

Description

Rebuilding Together Aurora is a volunteer based not-for-profit organization that provides free home repair, safety modifications, and energy efficiency upgrades to low-income seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and families with small children that own homes in the city of Aurora, Illinois. We are one of nearly 200 affiliates of the national Rebuilding Together (www.rebuildingtogether.org) organization, whose vision is to provide a safe and healthy home for every person. Our mission is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the lives of low-income homeowners so that they may live in warmth, safety, and with independence.

Since our affiliate's founding in 1993, we have provided repair to over 1,000 homes, reinvested $2.5M back into the community, and annually engage over 900 volunteers in our mission.

Volunteers are utilized to provide: hands-on repairs to homes; plan and implement projects; provide administrative support throughout the year; assist on individual event days.
