Greetings!
Want to have more meaning in your life? Do you want to do something that is satisfying and of great service to your community? Then become a Home to Stay Program volunteer!
Volunteers are needed from the Midland County area to work with individuals and families who have been experiencing difficulty budgeting and keeping up with time management. This has been known to greatly impact their ability to maintain housing and independence. Becoming a Home to Stay Program volunteer is similar to helping a neighbor in need.
The main qualification required is your desire to help someone in need. You don't need any social work skills; you don't even need a college degree; you don't even need to know what to say. All you need to do is contact me to let me know you are interested. You will then sign up for our volunteer training session which will be announced in the near future.
Another training session will be offered in the Fall, for people who will not be available during the summer.

Mission Statement
The mission of Midland Area Homes, Inc. (MAH) is to help low income people in need maintain and improve housing conditions for safe and independent living. We work closely with local churches, area agencies and businesses, and individual volunteers and donors to build a stronger community--one home at at time.
Description
In 1969, Midland Area Homes was established by 10 local churches that saw a need for a coordinated response to housing issues of low-income, senior and disabled residents. MAH is now the state and locally designated central intake and housing assessment and resource center for homeless and high-risk residents of Midland County. Since 1969, we have served over 40,000 households in one or more of our programs.
Our services and programs are supported by and through the the support of churches, local agencies, government and community volunteers. Programs include:
- Prevention of housing eviction
- Re-housing from homelessness
- Housing stability casework to prevent future housing loss
- Critical health and safety home repairs
- Furniture and appliance collection and distribution
- Aid with energy and heating costs
When community members need help with housing, there’s no place like Midland Area Homes - Housing Assistance Center.
