The Gift Shop Volunteers are some of the first friendly faces to help our patients and guests entering the hospital. Volunteers cashier, take phone orders, and provide an oasis to guests, patients, and staff from any stresses. Our hospital associates are very appreciative of the volunteers who serve our gift shop. You would be surprised with the selection of merchandise that we carry: jewelry, handbags, baby, collegiate, fresh flowers, balloons, candy, and much more. All profits are donated back to help St. John Health System with projects for our patients and guests.
Currently we have openings Thursday morning from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm and Wednesday evening from 4 - 8 pm.
You will be welcomed by the staff and other volunteers and you will leave with a warm heart knowing you have helped someone else.
Please contact us if you are interested in serving in this or other opportunities.
About St. John Auxiliary
1923 S. Utica Ave., Tulsa, OK 74104, US
The mission of the St. John Auxiliary is to serve our community with compassionate care and quality support for the patients, families and associates of St. John Medical Center, St. John Owasso, St. John Broken Arrow and St. John Sapulpa.
For more than 60 years, the St. John Auxiliary has provided volunteer services and funded special projects for St. John Health System. Today, volunteers are needed in several different areas within four of our main facilities: St. John Medical Center, St. John Owasso, St. John Broken Arrow and St. John Sapulpa.
The Auxiliary also has a model Junior Volunteer Program designed specifically for high school students, with goals to promote a lifelong commitment to community service and encourage medical career exploration.
Volunteer opportunities range from assisting professional staff in their patient care roles to manning guest services-related areas like our gift shops, information desks and flower delivery. St. John volunteers also greet and comfort families in emergency and surgical waiting areas and help with the patient admission and release processes.
Proceeds from the gift shops go toward special projects of the hospitals, such as wayfinding equipment and facility improvements and expansions, as well as technology like digital mammography units and the da Vinci surgical system that will impact lives in our community for years to come.
