Community Tax Aid has been providing high quality tax preparation services to low-income individuals and families in the DC Metropolitan area for over 30 years. In 2018 our volunteers prepared over 6500 tax returns at our 16 tax sites.

Tax Preparers: Interview customers and prepare their federal and state income tax returns. All volunteers wishing to provide free tax preparation for low income individuals and families are required to attend training and pass a certification test.

All training is free and is held during the first three weeks of January in downtown Washington DC. 3 four-hour classes are required. The training includes a segment on federal and state tax laws, as well as training for the computer software we use.

The site will be open January 29, 2019 through April 15, 2019. Volunteers may choose to volunteer on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
