Guest Services Desk Volunteers are important because they make the first impression for our patients and guests. Helpful, friendly, smiling faces welcome. Volunteers provide information including patient room numbers and directions to various locations of the hospital upon request. Good telephone etiquette is a plus. This is a perfect position for a college student, because you can bring books to study or read if it is not busy.

A four hour shift once per week is all we ask. You will be welcomed by our hospital associates and other volunteers and you will leave with a warm heart knowing you have helped someone else.

Currently we have openings on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4 - 8 pm.

If you are interested in this opportunity or any others, please contact us.

About St. John Auxiliary

1923 S. Utica Ave., Tulsa, OK 74104, US

Mission Statement

The mission of the St. John Auxiliary is to serve our community with compassionate care and quality support for the patients, families and associates of St. John Medical Center, St. John Owasso, St. John Broken Arrow and St. John Sapulpa.

For more than 60 years, the St. John Auxiliary has provided volunteer services and funded special projects for St. John Health System. Today, volunteers are needed in several different areas within four of our main facilities: St. John Medical Center, St. John Owasso, St. John Broken Arrow and St. John Sapulpa.

The Auxiliary also has a model Junior Volunteer Program designed specifically for high school students, with goals to promote a lifelong commitment to community service and encourage medical career exploration.

Volunteer opportunities range from assisting professional staff in their patient care roles to manning guest services-related areas like our gift shops, information desks and flower delivery. St. John volunteers also greet and comfort families in emergency and surgical waiting areas and help with the patient admission and release processes.

Proceeds from the gift shops go toward special projects of the hospitals, such as wayfinding equipment and facility improvements and expansions, as well as technology like digital mammography units and the da Vinci surgical system that will impact lives in our community for years to come.
