"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up." ~John Holmes
Want to get in better shape? It's not always just physical exercise that can do your heart some good!

We are looking for individuals or groups who want to invest in their community...and to support those who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Thrift Shops financially support our programs, services, and homes that offer care and support to those with disabilities and their families.

How can you help? We always need people to help us process our donations and get them prepared, priced, cleaned up, and ready for sale in the store. Some things our volunteers help us with: organizing, sorting, hanging clothes, cleaning items, small repairs, merchandising, books, collectables... Please contact us and we will help you get started. Experience the special reward in doing something for those who can never repay your kindeness....and maybe increase your heart capacity!

Mission Statement

Enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through services that share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Bethesda is a national leader in providing homes and support, promoting awareness and advocating for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Operating at program locations across the United States, we are a Christian non-profit organization that succeeds through the passion of our employees, contractors, donors and volunteers who make a difference every day in the lives of those we support.

Bethesda’s spectrum of services continues to evolve as we strive to reflect the needs of the people and families we support, which in recent years has focused on independence and community inclusion. Our organization is proud to be a change agent in implementing forward-thinking solutions that improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
