FamilyWise is Minnesota’s largest provider of secure structured visitation and safe exchange services for families. Our services allow families to rebuild and strengthen relationships in a safe, confidential and observed environment.
As you can well imagine, when more than a thousand visits a year happen in the same rooms, these spaces take a lot of wear and tear.
To keep the rooms safe and clean we’re looking for volunteers to help us
- sort, wash and re-distribute toys
- wipe down surfaces
- paint & refresh spaces
- provide care as needed for these important spaces
This is a physically active job that requires clothes that can get dirty, and may require the ability to reach and lift furniture, though adaptions can be made for volunteers with physical limitations.
It’s great to pair this opportunity with a book, toy, or diaper drive--and actually place the items in our Family Rooms! It’s so rewarding to see where your donations go, and what a great difference they make in the lives of children and their families.

FamilyWise is a local nonprofit that helps our community’s most vulnerable children and families. Many of these families come to us with a history of poverty, domestic violence and homelessness. Your volunteering and financial support helps break this cycle of despair and gives them hope for a better future.
Our goal is to promote social change by strengthening families and the community through programs that:
- Educate parents on skills needed to lead stable lives and provide safe homes for their children.
- Empower families to achieve self-sufficiency and to advocate for themselves and their children.
- Enrich the lives of children, youth and families, enabling them to lead healthy, productive family lifestyles.
