YEAH! Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to helping YEAH! provide two meals a day. They cook, serve, and keep the space and dishes clean! We couldn't serve the meals we do without them!

Give back during this holiday season by volunteering with YEAH! (Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing), Berkeley's only shelter for transitional age youth (18-25). We assist young people who are currently homeless by providing basic relief from the stress of living on the street. We are also dedicated to co-creating a community of mutual support and respect.

You may volunteer by cooking dinner (6:00 to 8:00pm), serving dinner (7:45 to 10:15pm), running the shower log (8:15 to 10:15pm) and/or cooking and serving breakfast (6:30 to 8:30am). These are all great ways to get to know your community - both fellow volunteers and the youth we serve. The community at YEAH! seeks to transform and change the lives of everyone in our community, including the volunteers and staff.

The YEAH! shelter will be open for this season through the end of May. We are looking for folks who can volunteer on a consistent basis and at least five times. We have many openings during the month of December, and we will need ongoing support in the new year.

We also encourage groups to plan, purchase, cook, and provide once a month meals, and we would love to hear from you if that's something you're interested in.

Volunteers attend an orientation before they begin volunteering in order to learn more about our organization and the volunteer roles. Orientations will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on:
Thursday, December 11th
Tuesday, December 16th
