CCC is seeking an intern to assist in the support of our program participants in developing socially appropriate behaviors, peer interactions, communication strategies, social independence, friendship and citizenship skills, and community safety skills in multiple community environments.
This intern will gain valuable hands-on training and experience working with the full spectrum of school-aged children and young adults with an autism diagnosis. Work alongside CCC’s Directors with over 20 combined years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism as well as our Director of Behavioral services, who is a B.C.B.A. and clinical PhD.
The intern will go through the extensive 7-day orientation, 8 hours per day as well as regular ongoing training. Goals and "check points" for learning will be set on a monthly basis to help evaluate learning progress.A review will be conducted after three months as well as at exit.
The internship can be taken for college credit depending on the requirements of the participating college or university and their individual program requirements. 12-14 hours weekly and would like a minimum of three to six months commitment from applicants due to the nature of the program and the extensive amount of ongoing training and team building CCC provides. This is an unpaid internship. This is also a position that has potential room for growth after 90 day training period. TB test, fingerprint, and background check will be completed upon hire. Description
The Community ConNext program is a community-based, social behavior development and inclusion program for kids and teens diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. This program focuses on breaking down the skills involved in building reciprocal, meaningful relationships and friendships by working in a peer-rich environment in an effort to foster natural relationship building opportunities.
This program is run by an autism-specifically trained and educated, highly skilled Coaching Team led by a Team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). The Team utilizes a variety of individual evidence-based practices that focus on teaching behavior self-management strategies and supporting social skill development to help our program participants more independently navigate and be actively included in their community.
