Drive older adults to local grocery, library, hairdresser, etc. These are non-medical trips and most drives are weekdays. Schedule and time commitment are flexible. Orientation will be provided and CDC guidelines are in place for safety of the volunteer and the senior client. To provide opportunities for adults 55+ and over to live independent, meaningful lives through programs of service and enrichment.
Description
The Shepherd's Center is a non-profit, volunteer-based, interfaith organization serving older adults in the local community with services to assist them to continue to live independently in their own homes and enrichment programs to stimulate lifelong learning. Services include transportation to medical appointments, companion shopping, food delivery, minor home repairs, friendly callers and visitors, record keeping assistance and support groups. Some of the programs offered are Adventures in Learning classes, quarterly luncheons, and trips.
