Become an essential part of Seaport Hospice's team by helping provide comfort care to our patients in their homes or at a facility. Learn to be present in the moment in your life as well as someone else's life by reading, talking, listening, laughing, playing games, playing music, singing, and/or running errands for terminally ill patients.

There's no skill or experience necessary. Studies show that the simple presence of another human being can reduce pain and improve cognition. We need compassionate and caring individuals. We'll teach you the rest. Our training program is online and self-paced. After completion, we'll go out with you until you feel ready to go on your own.

We are looking for Direct Care Volunteers throughout the San Diego County. Volunteer in your area on your schedule. Give as much or as little time as you can. Every interaction makes a difference.

I've been working in hospice for 8 years now. I started as a volunteer. It's the best thing I've done for others and myself. - Adrienne A. Aguirre, Chaplain and Volunteer Coordinator
