Volunteering at K-9 Angels is a great opportunity to give back to your community, exercise, meet new friends, and of course, help the dogs!
We need YOUR help to cram all the puppy love and fun possible into the days we open our doors to the public for adoptions. In other words, you will walk dogs, greet the public, and help people find their perfect match by creating a smooth and enjoyable adoption experience.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Mission Statement
K-9 Angels Rescue is committed to rescuing and re-homing shelter dogs in and around the City of Houston, regardless of their breed or circumstance. We are motivated by the dire need to educate the public about the effects of irresponsible breeding practices, while helping the community by alleviating overcrowding in area shelters. As we believe proper health care of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered.
Description
K-9 Angels Rescue is an all-volunteer, all-breed canine rescue organization established in February 2012. In the first two years of operation alone, we found homes for over 1000 dogs!
We are a rescue group for shelter dogs who run out of time.
In other words, we are not a shelter, have no permanent facilities, and are not equipped to take in dogs from the public. We select dogs from local animal control facilities who would not have made it out alive.
No one involved in K-9 Angels receives ANY compensation.
Our volunteers are compassionate animal welfare advocates who contribute their time, skills, and finances to shelter dogs in Houston. K-9 Angels relies completely on adoption fees, donations, and our amazing volunteers.
K-9 Angels covers ALL costs for dogs currently in the program.
K-9 Angels dogs are kept up-to-date on all vaccines (DHLPPC, bordatella, rabies) as well as heartworm and flea prevention. We fund all medical care necessary, including spayinf/neutering.
We commit to K-9 Angels dogs until they are adopted.
Our volunteer foster homes patiently provide safety, love, and integration into a household environment - a key to successful adoptions. The biographies, pictures, and even videos from foster homes are important "pup-licilty" for our dogs!
