It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

Joe's Club Community Room7951 Ron Beatty BlvdBarefoot Bay, FL 32976

VITAS Sewing Volunteers make a variety of items to provide bereavement support and personal comfort for our Hospice Patients and their families.

Memory Bear Crafters make home-sewn bears to ease a hurting heart after the death of a VITAS patient. The bears are sewn from items of the patient's clothing. A Memory Bear may recall the closeness of a loved one, bring a smile to someone in distress, or offer a sense of security to a child who feels alone after the loss of a grandparent, parent or sibling.

Veteran Bear Crafters make home-sewn bears that are prsented to a VITAS patient who has served in our Armed Forces. The bears are sewn from patriotic fabric or military uniforms that are no longer fit for service.

Comfort Items are presented to patients to provide emotional support and dignity. Lap blankets, clothing protectors, walker bags etc...

VITAS sewing group volunteers gather once each month at Joe's Club on Ron Beatty Blvd in Barefoot Bay to pick up and drop off their assignments. All items are made with the volunteer's own equipment in tne comfort of their home. Supplies are provided by VITAS.

This is an opportunity to use your talents or hobbies to make a difference in someone's life. Please contact us to get the most current schedule for the sewing group in your area!
