Life After Brain Injury is a nonprofit organization that provides free support services to brain injury survivors in and around Ventura County.
Opportunities available on an ongoing basis that are flexible to fit your schedule, include:
Development / Fundraising: help us create and run fundraising campaigns!
- Activities Coordinator: planning and implementing activities ("field trips" to museums, horseback-riding, art studios, etc.) including arragements of transportation, chaperones, safety measures, etc.
Guest speakers: Identify professionals or people with real-life experience to talk to our support group. Topics might include anything of interest or benefit to people with brain injuries, or exciting experiences had by the speaker.
Social Media: update and electrify website, Facebook page, Twitter account
Event Planning: promotion; acquiring donated silent auction goods and services from merchants; implementation of events
Administrative: filing, mailings, outreach, reminder calls

Life After Brain Injury is an Independent Living-based support system for survivors and family caregivers who want to be more capable, resourceful and resilient. We motivate survivors to pursue a fuller, more independent life that is neither limited nor defined by brain injury.
Description
Life After Brain Injury is...
- a program that helps survivors take back their lives, after brain injury has turned their lives upside-down;
- a support system for family members, so they can avoid caregiver burn-out;
- Independent Living-based (grounded in consumer choice, peer mentoring, and full inclusion in the community);
- a nonprofit serving Ventura County, in Southern California.
- support, hope and understanding from people who "get" brain injury;
- information and education around brain injury;
- training in independent living skills;
- a boost to your self-esteem and self-confidence;
- a sense of community and belonging.
