We will teach you all you need to know to be a tour guide at the State Museum. Learn techniques developed by the National Park Service and gain valuable experience that will help you learn and tell the story of South Carolina to museum guests.
Join a group of folks made up of interesting people. Retired teachers and lawyers, professional managers, former doctors, college students, and others who want to know more about South Carolina volunteer at the State Museum.
Many benefits including free guest passes, generous museum shop discounts, cafe discounts, free parking and the opportunity to take advantage of day trips to other parts of our state. Lunch and learn meetings are offered every month to add to your knowledge, introduce you to museum staff, and meet other volunteers. Most importantly though, volunteers enrich the experience of our museum guests. Volunteers build community, foster education, and facilitate lifelong bonds between the museum and its guests.
Orientation and free training is offered each month. This 3-hr training will end at noon, then continue for 4 additional sessions to give you a thorough background on South Carolina history, science, and art. Come join us and have fun as you learn.
Please let me know via return email if you can attend and I will register you for classes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you soon!
