Volunteer Treasurer/Board Member Sought

Friends of the Palo Alto Library ("FOPAL"), a 501(c)3 California corporation, holds monthly book sales at its Cubberley location and sells high-value books online, resulting in grants to the Palo Alto City Library which for this fiscal year are $200,000. The Library uses those funds to refresh the library collection (last year’s grant enabled the purchase of almost 4000 books and media) and for many youth and adult programs. One of those programs - summer reading - had a record of more than 4000 sign-ups in 2018. The 2019 Kids and Teens Writing Contest had 125 entrants. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers at FOPAL- board members, section managers, sorters, cashiers, box movers, high-value listers, shippers, etc. make all this possible. FOPAL has one employee - the Director of Volunteer & Community Engagement.
