PCAF Take Notes at our Monthly Board Meetings!

ORGANIZATION: PCAF (Pierce County AIDS Foundation)

PCAF is governed by a Board of Directors. Our Board meets once a month for two hours. We are looking for a volunteer to attend these meetings and take notes.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend PCAF Board of Directors monthly meeting
  • Take notes

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Comfortable with topics of sexuality, sexual orientation, and sexually transmitted diseases

Commitment: Board meetings happen once a month throughout the year (no July mtg).

Training: All PCAF volunteers must schedule a New Volunteer Orientation with our Development Coordinator and pass a criminal history background check.

Benefits: This volunteer will gain experience observing the operations and decision-making process of a nonprofit board of directors.

Mission Statement

PCAF, through education and service, prevents HIV infection, assists persons affected by HIV/AIDS, addresses related health problems, and combats associated stigma and discrimination.

Description

PCAF is a non-profit organization established in 1987 to respond to the needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS. In 2012 PCAF expanded its services by establishing a second office in Olympia, Washington. Today, PCAF serves Pierce, Thurston, and Lewis Counties.

PCAF is dedicated to assisting persons living with HIV/AIDS to meet their needs for food, housing, healthcare and personal support. PCAF provides personalized case management services to people living with HIV/AIDS and extensive outreach/education/prevention programming to help stop the spread of HIV and combat HIV related stigma.
