If you’ve mastered Microsoft Office, Excel, or database management, or if are an organized person who enjoys scanning files and preparing mailings, we’d love to have you join our team! We also love it when volunteers tackle one time or ongoing projects, like researching community trends or compiling information that benefits individuals experiencing homelessness (such as low/no-cost family fun options for the summer, job resource fair dates, or apartment listings).
When volunteers help our case managers with administrative work, the staff members are freed up to spend more time with clients. Your time and talents make a huge difference in our ability to help put an end to homelessness in the community.

About Homeless Connections
Location:
400 N. Division Street, APPLETON, WI 54911, US
Mission Statement
Ending homelessness by connecting individuals and families to resources that promote self-sufficiency and prevent future homeless episodes.
Description
Volunteers started the organization to provide shelter to people experiencing homelessness in the community by providing motel vouchers. A growing need for shelter led to the lease of a home in 1983 and then the purchase of a home in 1986. This home was later expanded to 25 beds in 1995. A case manager was also hired in 1995 to connect residents to community resources. A second case manager was hired and a 78-bed shelter was constructed in 1997, which is where Homeless Connections is housed today.
The mission of the organization expanded in 2002 when a Prevention Program was added to help prevent individuals and families at imminent risk of homelessness remain in their community housing. The Prevention Program was combined with LEAVEN’s program in 2008.
A Street Outreach Program was added in 2005 to meet the growing needs of those with chronic mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders residing in areas unfit for human habitation in the community.
