For New Volunteers - New to VITA Taxes
November Evening Session (In-Person) Workshops: 5:30PM - 8:30PM Be sure to attend all 3 workshops: Part 1, 11 & 111 to complete your Basic certification training.

November 7: Part 1

November 9: Part 11

November 14: Part 111

All study resources/handouts will be provided from Pub 4012, Pub, Pub 6744 & Pub 4491.

Prerequisite: Attendees need to complete the two following online trainings before the workshop meets on November 7. Please review the test questions. Memorization is not needed.

1. Volunteer Standards of Conduct (VSC) training (Ethics) The test questions are on Page 30-33.

3. Intake interview & Quality Review Form 13614-C (2022): Form 13614-C (Rev. 10-2022) (irs.gov)

The 2nd training is based on this mandatory form 13614-C, required to be used at VITA sites. All clients must complete, and all volunteers must carefully review for the accuracy of the tax return. Please familiarize yourself with this form by completing with your personal information.

Location: 60 Washington Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861Email crodriguez@uwcj.org or 732 247 3727 X 216 Each year United Way of Central Jersey helps complete hundreds of free tax returns for people in need through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, resulting in hundreds of dollars kept in our communities. The Middlesex County, NJ VITA Coalition is recruiting additional volunteers in various capacities to help with this effort. Volunteers must complete certification timely and be ready to start by February 1, 2024 through April 30, 2023.
Volunteers will work at one of our community host sites in Perth Amboy to provide this valuable service. INCOME TAX PREPARER: Prepare Federal & State tax returns for electronic e-filing.Certifications required:

1. Ethics test (open book test)

2. Intake/Interview module (open book test)

3. Basic or Advanced level Certification (open book test)
