Description:
Provide one-on-one financial consults to WomenVenture clients for startup, emerging, or existing businesses. We are looking for qualified individuals to assist clients with their personal financial statements, cash flow assumptions, product pricing, banking options, etc.
We also have an opportunity for Certified Quickbooks pro-advisors to help clients set up and manage Quickbooks for their small business.
Consultations are set at volunteers' convenience as to date and time; typically each consultation is one-hour and held at WomenVenture. Appointments are scheduled after a WomenVenture staff member has discussed the particular client project with the volunteer consultant.
Skills & Qualifications:
The most successful financial volunteers have professional experience in the following areas:
•5+ years of experience in Small Business Banking or Commercial Lending
•Certified Public Accountant
•Controller, VP Finance, or Executive Leadership in Finance•Four Year degree (in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience)
•Experience reviewing business plans
•Must be able to assess and analyze financial conditions of clients and industry trends
•Must be able to understand and interpret financial statements and cash flow projections
•Demonstrated examples of improving specific business’ financial outcomes by interpreting financial statements and recommending specific financial solutions
•Familiarity with value proposition/positioning and new product development
•Commitment to WomenVenture’s Mission and passion for entrepreneurship
•Demonstrated problem solving skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability
•Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
•Professional dress and attitude
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, capable as an intermediate user of Microsoft ExcelPreferred:
•Teaching, coaching, or facilitation experience
•Experience launching new business ventures or analyzing business cases, integrating marketing and business
development plans
•Prior experience consulting with small businesses
•Small Business owners a plus
Commitment: We prefer a commitment of 6 months to a year, however volunteers meet with WomenVenture clients at their convenience.
