To combat the great numbers of unwanted cats on Maui, we offer a 4 day spay/neuter clinic for the community to bring in any cat(s) they want fixed. The clinics are mostly staffed by volunteers so we need your help!
There are many ways to help:
- customer service volunteers for the registration table. These shifts are half day: 7am until 1pm OR noon until 5pm-ish. Must be at least 16 years old.
- Energetic volunteers to help with transporting cats inside carriers from registration to surgery prep and back again. Must be at least 18 years old.
- Volunteers with medical experience to help with post-surgery recovery and with cleaning and autoclaving medical equipment for new surgical packs. Must be at least 18 years old.
- Caring volunteers to help keep an eye on animals waking up from the anesthesia. Must be at least 18 years old.

Description
The Maui Humane Society is the only open admission shelter for the county of Maui, Hawaii. We take in any and all animals, regardless of reasons. Our goals are: to prevent overpopulation by promoting the spay/neuter of all companion animals; reunite lost animals with their families and to find new homes for orphaned animals; to provide safety for both animals and humans through our Animal Control Division; to provide education to promote a compassionate community that relates to animals with kindness and love.
