We are a non profit community library open to the general public. San Juan Community Library depends on the generosity of our dedicated volunteer staff for our daily operations. Volunteers help to shelve books and to check for accurate shelving. Volunteers also assist adults and children with research, both on-line and with the materials of our collection. We are grateful for volunteers who are also willing to rake, to paint, and to sweep (we are surrounded by trees!). If you have grant writing experience, we are also looking for proposal writers.
Since the passing of Hurricane Maria, we have been working without electricity. We are open under a modified schedule, and are using a minimum number of our volunteer workforce. We want to to let everyone at VolunteerMatch.com know that we are grateful for your responses to our recruitment post. However, until we receive our power, and can return to our full schedule, we cannot interview new candidates for volunteer service. (All volunteer applicants are asked to complete a volunteer application form.)
Thank you, one and all, for your generous offers to help. We will let you know when we can again receive applications. Connie Estades, Executive Director December 12, 2017
