Shawna’s House Inc. is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit focused on youth mentoring for males and females within the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shawna’s House Inc. has two mentoring divisions- Teen Chat Room: a mentoring network for coed teens ages 13 to 18. TCR offers group discussions, community service projects, and social events. Teen Parent Control: a mentoring network for coed teen parents ages 12 to 21. TPC offers group discussions, resources, workshops, community service projects, and social events.
Shawna’s House Inc. was founded in 2011 and is in need of funding for operational expenses, a permanent facility to operate from, and program expenses. We are in search of a Volunteer Grant Writer interested in the growth of Shawna’s House and eager to support us reach our financial objectives and fulfill our mission.
The Volunteer Grant Writer will be responsible for writing and winning grant proposals from public, private, and government sources; ensuring that Shawna’s House Inc. is represented professionally and accurately in all written materials; working closely with Shawna’s House Inc. Executive Director to highlight Shawna’s House Inc. operational strength's and unique mission in all proposals; tracking status of all grant proposals and preparing reporting with project timelines for Executive Director
The ideal volunteer candidate will have experience as a non-profit grant writer, preferably for organizations dealing with youth mentoring with a proven track record of writing and winning grants from both public and private sources. Have excellent writing and project management skills. Knowledge of the nonprofit landscape and grant writing best practices is required. We seek an energetic and self-motivated leader who is consistent, disciplined, and organized with a positive and can-do personality!
