ORGANIZATION: AHRC NYC

AHRC New York City's ONE-for-ONE program offers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities meaningful and enduring partnerships with volunteers from their local community. Volunteers are expecteded to meet with their ONE-for-ONE partners at least once a month for a minimum of one year and to check in regularly with a Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers must be over 18, be good listeners, and be willing to provide support, friendship, and positive examples of community engagement. Participants are required to attend an Orientation/Training session and pass a security background check. Exact meeting locations, dates, and times will be determined by the participants, and can take place in all 5 boroughs.
